United Airlines has recently come under fire on social media after a reporter tweeted that two teenage girls and one child were barred from boarding a flight after their yoga pants were deemed inappropriate travel attire. According to United, all three girls were "pass travelers" who were flying for free because a family member worked for the company, and while passengers ordinarily would not be barred from flying for wearing yoga pants, pass travelers must abide by a certain dress code.

However, many are still unsatisfied with the policy. The reporter who initially saw the girls barred from the flight and spoke with them questioned whether the policy were not outdated, pointing out that spandex yoga pants are common casual wear for women.
I'm pretty sure yoga pants are a thing. They're part of modern America. They're a staple, a go-to clothing item.

Now, United has been spending the last few days fielding questions on Twitter about their policy, replying time and again that the dress code only applies to people representing United Airlines by flying for free, but many are still outraged, including several celebrities like Chrissy Teigen and LeVar Burton.
