The ‘Smart’ Era of Digitalization

We are living in a digital age! Even our Prime minister promotes the slogan of digital India. But what exactly is digitalization? It is nothing but converting the information in the form of text, pictures or sound into a digital form or in the form of bits so it can be processed by a computer. The technology which breaks the information into binary codes of ones and zeroes is called digital technology. Our smart phone is a prime example of a digital device. It converts the messages and voice calls from one phone into binary code of 1’s and 0’s and then reassemble the code back at the receiver’s phone. All of this happens in fraction of seconds and with great reliability. Other common devices that use digital information include calculators, traffic light controllers, personal computers, automobiles etc. They all have made the human life much simpler in the last few decades.

Digitalization for a smart future

When this technology is used to solve traditional problems, we call it digital transformation. These digital solutions enable new types of innovation and creativity, rather than simply enhance and support traditional methods. With changing times the technology is changing every day. More and more IT companies are spending on transformation or digital business transformation to meet the rapidly changing business needs. These transformations also bring value and innovation to a company.

The set of technical activities that transform digital data into well-developed reports, analyses, recommendations, predictions and optimization is called digital analytics. It is very important for a business to not only understand their customer, but also improve as to how to market them better. Digital analysis gives Business developer a simple easy to read data in the form of reports and charts for better understanding of the trends which he can then use for a better marketing approach to reach the customers affectively.
