Benjamin Jeanty, 27, and his dad, Duvinson Jeanty, 63, graduated from William Patterson University after a long journey for both of them. The pair are the first members of their family to receive a college education and graduate.

Duvinson Jeanty emigrated to the U.S. from Haiti in 1983 and didn't have a high school diploma. However, Duvinson eventually made the decision to go back to school and began taking night classes towards his Associate’s degree.

It was really emotional. Just being with him and getting our education together, graduating with him was an indescribable feeling.
