In the early morning of June 14, a fire broke out at London's Grenfell Tower. As the fire grew, the apartment complex quickly became engulfed in flames with residents attempting to flee in all directions. One eyewitness recalls, "People were starting to appear at the windows, frantically banging and screaming."
One woman on the 9th or 10th floor was desperate to save her baby's life and began signaling to the crowd below to catch her baby. Luckily, one man stepped up and managed to catch the child.
Currently, the fire has claimed twelve lives with others still missing. The death toll is expected to be higher.
