Science has finally done it! Proven that in fact, your dog does understand you! This is the best thing science has done since...ever?

The bad news is he's heard all those cuss words and isn't impressed.

Researchers in Hungary conducted the experiment. They took scans of the brains of dogs as they listened to their trainers, to see which areas of their brains responded. And what they found is pretty amazing!

Dogs brains mirror humans brains in more ways than we first thought! Dogs process words with the left brain hemisphere and intonation with the right brain hemisphere; exactly like humans!

Though unlike humans they are cute and fluffy and perfect.

This means that dogs understand both what we are saying AND how we say it, which changes what we thought we knew about our best buds! Dogs have socialized with humans for hundreds of thousands of years, so it's not surprising that they understand us best!

For praise to work as a reward, your tone and words must match!

Your best buddy knows what you're saying! It's also important to note that all the dogs who took part in this experiment did so willingly! No pooches were harmed in the making of this article! A lot of them were cuddled though!

This is the only way I would ever want to do science.
