Don’t forget to pack an extension lead....

...and a first aid kit, coat hangers, tupperware, and a corkscrew.

2

Be prepared to answer the same question again and again

“What do you study?”, “where are you from?”, “what halls are you in?”, "did you take a gap year?", "where did you go?" etc

3

Freshers week is full of queues...

You'll be queuing to sign up for your seminars, queuing to register for the doctor, queuing to get your university ID card, queuing for the cash machine on a night out, queuing to get into a club etc

4

...but there's also lots of freebies!

There's no better place to get freebies than freshers fair; free Domino's pizza, pens, keychains, a travel mug, Sainsbury's basics washing-up liquid....walk around several times, in disguise if necessary, and grab as many as you can.

5

You don't need the entire reading list

Just because it's on the list, it doesn't mean you have to buy it. Most libraries will hold copies of the books you want, so don't buy any text books until you know which ones you’ll definitely need. They’ll only be used to prop your door open otherwise!

6

You’ll get a lot of time to practice your “oh, that’s really interesting” face

7

You'll get sick

Germs coming together from every corner of the country to equal Freshers’ flu.

8

But no matter how tired, sick or poor you are, your body has a remarkable way of making it on a night out

9

Never take your debit card on a night out

It won’t appreciate it, and neither will you in the morning.

10

And resist the urge to steal a traffic cone/road sign

11

It’s perfectly normal to feel homesick

12

But make the most of your freshers experience

It's exciting, daunting, crazy, emotional - but it'll help make the transition into university as enjoyable and rewarding as possible!
