A kitten shortage strikes!

Kitten rescue at the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League.

Wait, a kitten shortage?

That's right!

Kittens in northern states, such as New York and Maine, have a harder time surviving below-freezing temperatures that come along with a winter season. This can make it difficult to find feline companionship.

But not to worry, help is on the way!

Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League

Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League is a non-kill shelter in South Florida.

The Giver: Animal Shelter in South Florida

Peggy Adams, a non-kill animal shelter in Florida, has an abundance of cats and kittens! At last count, the animal shelter had approximately 800 kittens on-site and in foster care.

This will be Peggy Adams Animal Shelter's first time in sending a large quantity of cats on a jet. Currently, the cats are in foster care and are expected to go through the adoption process in Palm Beach.

Kittens eagerly await!

The Receiver: Animal Shelter in Port Washington

The kittens will make a journey of about 1,200 miles to their new home at an animal shelter in Port Washington. A journey with this many kittens was made possible by a flight donation via private jet to assure the kittens well-being.

The New York shelter will spay and neuter the kittens, attend to their medical needs and micro-chip them.
