Poker destinations

If you didn't have a chance to go to Las Vegas, but you are hungry for live poker, and you want to combine this with a holiday, we have few ideas which you can use this Summer!

We've found for you six destinations in Europe that host major poker tournaments this Summer, and they're also good places to go on holiday.

We have written some additional information about each place, which may help you to help you organise your Summer free time.

So what information you'll find below every destination's photo?

Poker: Bread and butter of our list - here you will find information about the poker games you will be able to participate in.

Hotel: Based on information from booking.com we calculated (for the illustration) the average cost of accommodation for four days, for two people (we assume that on vacation you will go with someone) in a three-star hotel, located as close to the city centre as possible. The average was calculated from the prices of five hotels. This is of course an approximate cost - if you are looking for a different hotel standard, or you are ready to stay in an apartment or hostel, or you are going alone, the cost can go down a lot!

Prices:
Food prices are based on online price comparison sites.

Meal - means a three-course meal for two people in a mid-range restaurant, if you're going alone divide this in half
McDonalds - means McMeal at McDonalds, or equivalent Combo Meal (for one person)
Beer - one domestic beer, 0.5 l draught
Cappuccino - one standard coffee
Coke/Pepsi - one 0.33 l bottle
Water - one 0.33 l bottle

Weather: daily highs and daily lows temperature, and rainy days

Information which we didn't include

Flights: We do not know which country and city will be your starting point, so we have not provided the cost of transport to your destination (also, flight prices can really vary). Currently there are so many flight search engines (for example Kayak, Skyscanner, Momondo, Azaireu, Expedia) that you should easily find cheap airlines to each of the places.

Things to do (besides poker): In fact, all the places on our list offer a wide range of entertainment - from lazy relaxation and sunbathing to cultural entertainment and vibrating nightlife. Of course, when choosing a place you should do your own research and take into account the specificity of the place. Bratislava, for example, is practically the only place on the list that is not ideal for someone who wants to lie on the beach, and Mamaia is not a place for someone who would like to explore historical monuments (for such a person a better choice would be for example Malta). You get a point.
