Maui
Maui
Maui is a beautiful place with a little bit of everything. Beaches, hiking, culture, and beautiful scenes are just some of the things you can enjoy here. Maui is home to Haleakala, a dormant volcano good for hiking and other activities. Maui is the 2nd largest island and has relatively cheap direct flight prices. It's one of the best islands for luxury travel and is the 3rd most populated, meaning there's no lack of people but it's not as crowded as Oahu, with the capital city, Honolulu.
Oahu
Oahu
Oahu is where the capital city, Honolulu, is located. That's why it's the most populated island. Oahu is home to the famous Waikiki beach, where there are many great resorts and hotels. Oahu is the best island for nightlife and parties. If you seek some solitude, there's plenty of nature to be explored just a short drive away. Oahu is also where the Triple Crown Surfing Competition is held, with it's huge waves on the North Shore in winter. Oahu's a place for fun and crowds, but also history and culture.
Kauai
Kauai
Kauai is the island for you! It has beautiful, dramatic landscapes with lots of outdoor adventures. Kauai is home to the famous Na Pali coast, perfect for viewing from a helicopter, a kayak, or from the Kalalau Trail. Kauai also has the only navigable river in Hawaii, great for kayakers. Kauai is pretty quiet with not many people. You can easily find solitude, but don't worry, there are people around. This makes flights slightly more expensive. Kauai has lots of great resorts as well.
Hawai'i the Big Island
Hawai'i the Big Island
Hawai'i a.k.a. Big Island is for you! It has 11 of the world's 13 climate zones, making it the perfect place for outdoor adventures. From an active volcano to snowy mountains to lush forests to gorgeous beaches, you'll feel like your travelling a lot more than just one island. Of course, it's the biggest island in Hawaii-that's why it's called the Big Island! While it's great for outdoor explorers, it's also one of the best islands for luxury travel and culture
Molokai
Molokai
Molokai is the second least populated island. It has great history and culture, as well as fun activities like whale watching, fishing, and helicopter tours. Molokai is the most expensive to get to by plane. The reason it's so expensive is that not many people live there and it's not one of the more popular islands. But Molokai is a special place. It's nicknamed the Friendly Isle for good reason-the locals are very welcoming and friendly to visitors.
Lanai
Lanai
Lanai is the best island for seclusion and remoteness. This is the least populated island, resulting in it being the second most expensive to fly to-but it's well worth the visit. Lanai is sub-tropical and the "least Hawaiian". It has more of a desert landscape. But just because it's the least Hawaiian doesn't mean it's not worth the visit. There's plenty of unique things to do and see. It's a very unique island and has an amazing underwater world for scuba divers, and has very interesting history.
