The Bundestag, Germany's legislative branch, is tasked with concentrating much of its energy on assessing and amending German law to the needs of its people.
More recently, the committee played a prominent role in amending German Criminal Code, Section 175.

Justice Triumphs
On Thursday, The Bundestag voted to void all "Paragraph 175 convictions from the post-World War II era."
From the many thousands of convictions, an estimated 5,000 gay individuals are still alive.
The men are expected to receive approximately $3,350 in compensation for their convictions. Additionally, survivors will also receive about $1,675 for every year they spent in prison.
Germany's upper house is expected to approve the bill.
