Nicolas Hulot makes a proposition!
As an incentive to choose electric over gas or diesel, part of the plan will involve offering funds to qualifying households to replace their pre-1997 gasoline or pre-2001 diesel cars.
In addition, new automobile owners that choose to buy electric can receive a financial incentive of approximately $11,000.
The total incentive breaks down into two parts:
- Buying electric, and
- Scrapping a diesel/gas powered vehicle
