Bluezoo

Walt Disney World Dolphin; www.swandolphinrestaurants.com. Why we love it? Because of the stylish setting and uniquely prepared seafood courtesy of celeb chef Todd English. It's got the "wow" factor of a Disney property restaurant - with signature glass sculptures from a disciple of renowned artist Dale Chihuly - but the prices are a "wow" too, so head here only if you really love seafood. You can opt to sit in the lounge and order off the lounge menu (burgers, fish and chips, flatbreads), which is far lighter on the wallet.

2

California Grill

4600 N. World Dr.; https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/contemporary-resort/california-grill/. Why we love it? Fabulously flavorful fare plus world class views of Disney fireworks (on the 15th floor of the Contemporary!). Hands down one of the best of the Disney restaurants, with outstanding food, and an outstanding selection of wines from California.

3

Emeril's

Universal Studios Citywalk, 6000 Universal Blvd.; www.http://emerilsrestaurants.com/emerils-orlando. Why we love it? The first of the celebrity chefs still does it right at one of his first restaurants - Emeril's on Universal Citywalk. While you won't see Emeril in the kitchen, you will have a tasty meal - the Sweet Barbecue Roasted Salmon and the Banana Cream Pie are two standouts. One of Orlando’s most popular restaurants so reserve early.

4

Highball & Harvest

The Ritz Carlton Orlando, 4012 Central Florida Pkwy.; http://www.ritzcarlton.com. Why we love it? The food is locally sourced, and much of the produce is grown at the on-site Whisper Creek Farm. The cocktails feature fresh juice and seasonal ingredients, and the atmosphere is upscale rustic.

5

Jiko - The Cooking Place

Animal Kingdom Lodge at Walt Disney World; https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/animal-kingdom-lodge/jiko-the-cooking-place/. Why we love it? Disney's Animal Kingdom signature restaurant turns out outstanding exotic fare with African overtones from its twin wood-burning ovens. Seasonal dishes can range from Durban Shrimp Curry to Kenyan Coffee-Rubbed Atlantic Black Grouper. The wine list is tops, offering the largest selection of South African wines in the country (and the restaurant has won several wine awards).

6

Sanaa

2901 Osceola Pkwy (in Kidani Village) at Animal Kingdom, Walt Disney World. https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/animal-kingdom-villas-kidani/sanaa/. African cooking meets Indian fare, and it is far better than it sounds. The food is great, and yet the price point is below other Disney upscale dining offerings. While we would highly recommend this on food alone, the atmosphere is also a standout (watch animals graze as you eat in a cozy, Moroccan style setting!). If you can call something at Disney a hidden gem, this would be it.

7

Seasons 52

7700 W. Sandlake Rd., www.seasons52.com. Why we love it? If it wasn't for the fact that this was at a strip mall - albeit a nice one - you would feel a little like you're in Napa with its oversized wood beams, dark wood and candlelight. This chain restaurant prides itself on its healthy American menu which changes with the "seasons". And it should pat itself on the back because the food is tasty and very well priced.

8

The Boathouse

Disney Springs, 1620 Buena Vista Dr.; https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/disney-springs/boathouse-restaurant/. Why we love it? Outstanding seafood that caters to all price points, and the best baked Alaska in Florida make this noteworthy newcomer to Disney Springs a great dining option. Standouts include the Jumbo Crabcake, the Shrimp and Andouille Mac and Cheese and, surprisingly, the burger.

9

The Edison

Disney Springs, 1570 E. Buena Vista Dr.; www.theedisonfla.com. Why we love it? This new bar/restaurant/nightclub pays tribute to old time industrial power plants, with steam punk decor, and high energy cocktails. The food is modern comfort, with excellent burgers and crispy fried chicken. Be out of there by 10 pm if you don't want to experience the nightclub kicking in.

10

The Polite Pig

Disney Springs, Town Center. https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/disney-springs/polite-pig/. Why we love it? Florida-meets-Southern fare at this mod bbq spot, the brainchild of uber restauranteurs from the outstanding Ravenous Pig in Winter Park. And The Polite Pig lives up to the hype with excellent bbq and excellent vibe. Take note of the house made sauces and the incredible bourbon selection.
