Great Source of Pleasure

Pools have been a big part of my life; from the first time, I went to a pool I have known that playing the water would be something I would never get tired of. I love outdoor pools. Ever since I was little, I have been going to the pool to swim with my brothers and friends; it was always the highlight of my day. On a hot summer day, I was able to go outside to the swimming pool with my friends and play for hours, never once being bored.

In the winter when it is cold and snowy, we would swim in our local recreation center; we were always able to make new friends and avoid the cold. Going to the pool at any time of year was always something I looked forward to, and always have fond memories of it. I have also found the pool to be relaxing to others, and me hearing the water hit the side of the pool, slight splashes and sitting in a hot tub can all be very soothing. After a day of school and work sometimes the perfect place to be is in the nice refreshing clean water.

Be Always healthy

Swimming pools are also a wonderful way to stay or get in shape. Being on a swim team for several years, I personally have seen the physical and mental benefits of swimming and using the water as a great fitness tool. Being active in the water can be very hard work but in the end, it is a great way to lose weight, stay in shape or help people recover from prior injuries. Water activity is good for anybody; from young to old, active to not, anyone can spend time in the water and be active. Swimming laps, doing fitness classes or just running around in the water is a great way for anybody to be active.

I personally like to swim laps; the cool water rushing past you is a wonderful feeling that you don’t get from anything else. After a workout I always enjoy a dip in the hot tub to cool down, it has always been one of my favorite perks of swimming. Using the hot tub is a great way to cool down and relax after swimming or a long day. Being on a swim team has allowed me to find a passion; it showed me some of the great uses of a pool and some of the lifelong friends I made.

Job Opportunities

Running and operating pools take lots of people and work, creating lots of jobs. To keep a pool safe to swim in there has to be someone to make and put in all the chemicals, someone to clean to the pool, managers, lifeguards and people to run pump rooms and repair anything that may be damaged. All of these things create many jobs for a range of age groups.

Lifeguarding is the perfect job for teenagers and college students after school or over the summer. Some find lifeguarding a perfect job for them and become managers or recreational service management. The mechanical aspects of the pool are also extremely important and many jobs go out to people to run the pool, make sure the pool is clean; nothing is broken and running smoothly. Because of all the jobs being used to run a pool, it creates a good cycle of outcome and income economically, especially if they are year-round or indoor pools.

Another Benefits

Although pools have a long list of benefits, they are expensive to maintain because it requires lots of cleaning tools including best pool pump, filter, heaters, cleaner and so on. A large expense in pools is the water to fill them, although the water in most pools is not drained excessively, it costs a lot to fill them. Depending on the pool size there could be thousands of gallons in a single pool. Some of this water is lost in cleaning, splashing and is evaporated and will need to be replaced. Keeping the extremely large amounts of water in them can cost up to thousands of dollars. To keep a pool clean it needs to be skimmed, vacuumed and chemicals have to be checked and added constantly.

The chemicals that are put into pools such as chlorine are very expensive and are often needed in large quantities. There are also the tests that are used to test the chemicals in the water, which are extremely important to make sure the pool is safe to swim in. These tests can be very pricey adding to the large list of expenses. This creates a large expense to the cleaning factor alone, which is not something that can be avoided.

Of course, there has to be someone to do this all, employees of pools are extremely important and have to be paid. Depending on the size of the pool and area it is in, the list of employees can be pretty high.

Conclusion

Payroll can add up very quickly if a pool is mismanaged or there is not a bigger amount of income the cost of payroll and other expenses can outweigh the income. Although there are a lot of expenses to running a pool, if done properly it can bring in a good income be very beneficial to the community.

Swimming pools are a great way to spend the day with people of all ages. The list of things that pools can be used for is extremely long and is beneficial to almost anyone. Working and swimming in a pool almost every day is a huge part of my life and many others. It comes with health benefits, a job and a place of enjoyment. On a hot or cold day, I always find it enjoyable to spend a day in the pool no matter what I am doing.
