Harry's Eyes Are.... Blue?

The books put such great importance on Harry having his mother's green eyes, but apparently it wasn't as important to WB. Harry, played by Daniel Radcliffe, had blue eyes while his mother's were brown.

2

Gryffindor Wins the Quidditch Cup.

All those years of early morning quidditch practices with no payoff! It would have been nice to see Harry finally win the cup, but the movies cut most quidditch scenes, as they were difficult and expensive to film.

3

Where's Peeves?

Although scenes with Peeves were shot, the mischievous poltergeist never made an appearance in any of the eight films.

4

Moony Wormtail Padfoot and Prongs

Harry lost his parents not long after his first birthday, but director Alfonso Cuarón didn't feel it was necessary to add the scene in which Harry learns all about his father. Potterheads were furious with the omission of this fan favorite chapter.

5

Charlie Weasley: the Forgotten One

Ron's dragon trainer brother never makes an appearance in the Potter films, unless you count the family picture from the Weasley's trip to Egypt -- but I most definitely do not.

6

S.P.E.W.

Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire completely skips over Hermione Granger's passion project, the Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare. It would have been great to see, considering the films don't address the enslavement of our favorite magical creatures.

7

The Third Task

If you've never read the books, you might think the third task of the triwizard tournament was nothing more than a giant maze, but real fans know it was filled with rare and deadly creatures. Potterheads were dying to see the beautiful and dangerous sphinx but were sadly disappointed.

8

Ron and Hermione Made Prefects

The movies made Ron Weasley out to be to be Harry Potter's dumb jockey friend, but Ron was made a Gryffindor prefect -- one of the most prestigious titles at Hogwarts.

9

The Day Draco Malfoy Got What He Deserved!

Potterheads were outraged with the omission of the chapter where Harry and Fred Weasley beat the daylights out of Draco in the fifth installment of our favorite series.

10

Voldemort's History

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince was basically a Voldemort history lesson, but the film cut most of these scenes in order to add a romantic theme which was barely prevalent in the books.

11

Teddy Who?

Teddy Lupin, the son of fan favorites Remus and Nymphadora Lupin, was mostly brushed off in the last two films of the series -- besides for this split-second mention.

12

The Real Dumbledore

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows had a huge plot line pertaining to the rise and fall of Dumbledore, in Harry's eyes -- but it was entirely skipped over in the film. Dumbledore was an extremely deep character who was not always so dedicated to helping others. His friendship with genocidal maniac, Gellert Grindelwald never made the movies final cut.

13

The Dursley's Farewell

Harry's evil family, specifically his cousin Dudley, never get their chance at redemption in the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Dudley thanking Harry for saving his life, is completely omitted, much to the chagrin of Potterheads everywhere.

14

The Deathly Hallows

Harry is a descendant of the three brothers, and the rightful owner of all three of the deathly hallows. The movie doesn't specifically mention this, although it's a major plot point in the last book.

15

Dumbledore's portrait

After Harry defeats Voldemort, he returns to his old headmaster's office and is congratulated by Dumbledore's portrait, along with the rest of the previous headmasters. Fans were crushed when this scene didn't make the movie, as it was the perfect way to tie together all the loose ends of the series.

16

Harry's wand

While Harry is talking to Dumbledore's portrait, he uses the elder wand to repair his original wand, but the film skips over this detail entirely.
