Both Priscilla and Mark are happy to announce their latest contribution to the scholastic community, a donation that will benefit 400 college scholarships recipients.

The scholarships will be awarded to DREAMers, children who were brought to the U.S. without documentation, who are now adults seeking a college education.

While undocumented children are able to attend public school, many are unable to seek higher education and attend colleges or universities, regardless of academic achievement.

What is the DREAM act?

The DREAM Act stands for Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors.
It's an American legislative proposal that has yet to be passed.
The bill helps undocumented immigrants pave a way towards legal residency, if they qualify.
Requirements of the bill include:
1. Proof of arrival in the U.S. before the age of 16.
2. Proof of residency in the U.S. for at least (5) years.
3. If male, registration with the Selective Service.
4. Proof of good moral character.
5. Between the ages of 12 and 35, when bill is passed.
6. Proof of graduation from a U.S. high school, or
7. Proof of admittance to a college or university.
Recipients of the bill will be under "conditional" status for the first (6) years.
After the (6) years, recipients will have to prove:
(a) graduate from a two-year community college or
(b) complete at least two years towards a four-year degree or
(c) serve two years in the US military.
If criteria is met, recipients will be able to apply for Permanent Residence.
