The 20's/30's

The 20's/30's

The 20's and 30's was a magical time. World War I ended, and America had a surplus of money. So many of us could afford cars and nice houses, but that soon came to an end. We ran our country bankrupt. It was The Great Depression. What you bought was sold for what little money you could get, and mothers and fathers gave their children to orphanages because they couldn't provide for themselves.

But It's not like there wasn't ANY fun. It was, again, a magical time of speak-easy's, raging new fashion, and of course bootleggers. This is by far one of my favorite eras ever. There was a sense of new (and sometimes illegal) adventure that brought about an air of rebellion and freedom. And Jazz music was starting to really boom, which would go on to help create rock and roll in the 50s. Swing dancing was the most popular type of dance in this era.

You are resourceful and spontaneous. You like to go out on a limb and do things your way. It may not always turn out how you expected, but you try to have fun no matter what. You are popular with almost everyone because of your spunky personality, and you live a pretty good life. Maybe you're saving a dark secret from everyone you know, and if so, either try to forget it of come to terms with it and move on so you can enjoy life to the fullest.

The 40's/50's

The 40's/50's

This era is truly the epitome of American culture. World War II ends in 1944, and when our soldiers come home, there is a big surge in the population. The Baby Boom. When the 50's roll around, everything explodes to life. Rock and roll is created, teens hang out in diners and drink milkshakes in their poodle skirts and listen to Buddy Holly on the radio. Parents seemed to think their kids were possessed by the devil, and James Dean was their leader. But, besides the fact, there was a surge of entertainment being created. Television shows like "Leave It to Beaver" and "I Love Lucy" were started, and they became some of the most iconic TV shows ever to exist on the planet. And there was Elvis. In America, it was hard to believe that another war had started; The Cold War.

You are lively and looking for fun. Rebellion is in your nature. You love doing things your way. You have many friends, but all in a clique. There are certainly people who annoy you to death. You may have the tenancy to be impulsive, but that's when you are sticking up to what you believe is right or fighting for something or someone you love.

The 60's/70's

The 60's/70's

This era has created many significant events that have changed history forever. First of all, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald on November 22, 1963, which left America in sorrow and tears. But we took a big step forward and President Lyndon B. Johnson signed The Civil Rights Act of '64, which ended discrimination of race, sex, or national origin. Everyone was equal. But our big step forward was short lived. The Vietnam War started, and America sided with South Vietnam. At least one third or the American population was strongly against the war. This created protesting that was more or less violent. There were also a lot of bombings on college campuses. This was basically the birth of The Hippie Movement. Along with that, lots of drugs came into popularity, specifically LSD, but also cocaine and heroin and, of course, marijuana. The war ended in 1975. Some of the most iconic bands came from this era, including Led Zeppelin, The Who, Queen, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Fleetwood Mac, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Simon and Garfunkel, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, The Jackson 5, Steve Miller Band; so many.

You are strong and free-spirited. You aren't afraid to fight your opinion. You love being around people and creating a community. You aren't afraid to try things either.

The 80's/90's

The 80's/90's

The 80's and 90's were a compilation of scrunchies, leg-warmers, combat boots, and cigarettes. John Lennon was assassinated in 1980, we find the wreck of the Titanic in 1985, many important events. In 1989, The Berlin Wall was finally taken down, help putting an end to The Cold War. We also got Richard Nixon and the Watergate Scandal. In the 90's, we get grunge metal/alternative and bands like Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins. We also can't forget about Bill Clinton and his sex scandal. We get Glam Metal in the 80's and classic bands like AC/DC and Aerosmith.

You are inventive and imaginative. You love creating things and expressing yourself.
