World press freedom day or world press day was declared by the UN general assembly on May 3 . The day is celebrated worldwide to give respect to the media ,to uphold the right to freedom of expression in Article 19 of the Human Rights .It also reminds the public the power of media and how essential it is for the press to get freedom .Media is a source which educates the general public about issues taking place around the world in several forms making it easy for them to read , see and understand the news.Media delivers message through - News channels , newspapers , pamphlets , boards, radio etc.But ALAS that media is not been given its deserving rights and maybe that's why nowadays media is not able to deliver correct or unbiased message to the public making it difficult for people to analyse the given report ; which creates a lot of misunderstanding between sources and subjects .World press freedom day is the day which reminds the government about giving freedom to the press.It should not get celebrated by just campaigns , gifts, reports but a person should mean it , and it should get celebrated by giving press its freedom , which they are worthy of . When the media gets freedom , public would get justice....
