THINK FABRIC

The weather is changeable in Spring, meaning that there is a huge choice of fabric out there: lightweight wool, cotton, linen and seersucker. We suggest wool and wool blend as the ideal material for this transitional season. The fabric breathes well, making it ideal for moving between social and more professional engagements. What’s more, the fabric is far less prone to wrinkling, fitting in better with a busy life. Weightwise, most Spring and Summer suits will generally be between 8 and 10 ounces, which is a medium weight which should ensure you stay comfortable.

2

UPDATE YOUR COLOURS

When choosing the colour of your suit, stick to the new neutrals. We love colours like brown, green and burgundy during these seasons – but we also love brighter shades such as light to medium blues, light greys and camel. Navy is really popular at the moment and works well with any wardrobe. Shades of grey work with all skin tones, and they look great all year around. As we move into Spring, think strong and subtle colours that would look good in Autumn too.

3

PATTERNS

Mark the change in season by injecting some fun and personality into your suits with a new pattern on your suit. Here at Cuba Clothing, we love plaids, checks and stripes. However, when it comes to patterns, sometimes it’s important to keep things simple. In Spring, a solid, non-solid men’s suit looks great. These come in solid colours but sometimes contain subtle patterns woven into the fabric, which we love! As we progress into the brighter evenings, get more adventurous with your patterns! For something on-trend, think plaid and check. These can be worn often without getting boring, plus they can be worn alone for that sharp sports coat look.

4

STYLE YOURSELF FOR SPRING

The two-button suit is a go-to standard that works well on all body types. Depending on your size and build, a three-button piece can create a slimmer shape. For slimmer body types, one button suits are an easy style to wear with jeans, chinos or for more casual spring events. Add some colour to your charcoal, grey or navy suit by mix and matching the jacket with a gingham or striped dress shirt, giving your outfit a stronger Spring vibe. If you have a patterned suit, keep your dress shirt and pocket square a solid colour so as not to go overboard.
