This Boy With Autism Just Became A World Champion In Taekwondo!

This is Ethan. He's 13, from Utah, and a Taekwondo World Champion. And he's also autistic.

Ethan was diagnosed at age three, and his mother worried that Ethan wouldn't have enough friends in school. She told him to choose a sport to take after school, and when he refused to pick, she loaded him up in her car and took him to his first Taekwondo class. And it's a good job she did.

It quickly became clear that Ethan was gifted at Taekwondo; he soon began winning competitions and making plenty of friends along the way! His mother couldn't have been prouder!

Ethan's mom Mara is always a little extra worried for her son. He is sensitive to sound, light, and can have a hard time meeting new people. But Taekwondo has changed his life, and he's changed Taekwondo!

Two days ago Ethan did the almost impossible and won a World Championship in Taekwondo! He's currently ranked first in the world for two events! Ethan never listened to anyone who doubted him, and now he is literally number one! Well done Ethan! We could all learn a little something from your hard work and determination!
