Arnold Schwarzenegger as the T-800

Arnold Schwarzenegger went on to star in a glut of major blockbusters in the 1990s and even reunited with James Cameron for the smash hit True Lies before going on to reprise his role as everyone's favourite robot in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. After a stint away from acting as Governor of California, Schwarzenegger then returned to acting, again reprising his role as the T-800 in Terminator Genisys. He plans on returning to the role at least once more for a sixth Terminator movie.

Edward Furlong as John Connor

Despite going on to earn rave reviews for performances in films like Pecker and American History X, Edward Furlong's personal issues ultimately resulted in a noticeable career decline from the year 2000 onwards, with multiple arrests and substance abuse getting in the way of his work. Furlong was once romantically involved with his 26-year-old tutor while filming T2 as a 13 year old. He has just completed work on a film, The Reunion, due for release this year and continues to pop up with small cameo roles in some lesser known projects.

Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor

Linda Hamilton enjoyed a steady if slightly unspectacular movie career after Terminator 2, with the volcano thriller Dante's Peak arguably a high point. She also became romantically involved with James Cameron, with the pair eventually marrying in 1997. They divorced two years later, with Hamilton earning a $50 million settlement. Steady work on TV, including guest spots on shows like Frasier and The New Adventures of Superman followed. Hamilton was most recently seen in the sci-fi series Defiance.

Robert Patrick as the T-1000

Though T2 was only Robert Patrick's second major movie credit after Die Hard 2, it proved to be the start of a busy career that has seen the actor pop up in any number of memorable movies including Cop Land, Striptease and The Faculty. He's also racked up significant roles on The X Files, Sons of Anarchy and The Sopranos. Patrick is currently starring in the hit action comedy series Scorpion.

Joe Morton as Miles Bennett Dyson

Another Terminator actor able to carve out a fine career as a character actor, Joe Morton has made appearances in Of Mice And Men, Speed, Ali and American Gangster down the years. He's also won an Emmy for his work on the hit series Scandal and has been cast as Dr Silas Stone, the father of the DC Comics character Cyborg, ahead of the upcoming Justice League movie.

Earl Boen as Dr Peter Silberman

Earl Boen returned as Dr Silberman for Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, in what remains his last credited movie role to date. He also appeared in the hit sequels The Odd Couple II and Nutty Professor II: The Klumps in the years that followed and has done voice work on several notable games. Now retired.

Jenette Goldstein as Janelle Voight

Jenette Goldstein had already worked alongside James Cameron as the memorable Vasquez in Aliens by the time T2 came along and the pair would reunite once more for Titanic in 1997. She went on to appear in Star Trek: Generations and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas in the years following T2 and now runs a large-cup bra specialist known for its slogan "The alphabet starts at 'D'".

Xander Berkeley as Todd Voight

Xander Berkeley followed up his brief but memorable appearance in Terminator 2 with a starring role in the excellent Candyman. He's also worked steadily in film and TV since. Movie credits include A Few Good Men, Apollo 13, Heat, Air Force One and, more recently Transcendence. A TV regular, he's also been on 24, CSI, The Mentalist and is currently playing Gregory on The Walking Dead.

Max The Dog

Max's whereabouts are unknown. A German shepherd thought to belong to James Cameron at the time, the age of Terminator 2 would suggest he is now in Doggie Heaven though. Interestingly Max actually appears in the first Terminator and was evidently trained by Sarah Connor to detect Terminators. He did his job.
