Arnold Schwarzenegger as Major Alan "Dutch" Schaefer

Schwarzenegger went on to even bigger and better things after Predator, turning down the chance to appear in the sequel before reprising the role that he made his name with in Terminator 2: Judgement Day.

He also found time to star in Twins, The Running Man and Kindergarten Cop amongst other movies and went on to spend eight years as governor of California. He’s now back busy acting, having impressed most recently in the drama Aftermath with talk of another Terminator movie in the offing.

Carl Weathers as Colonel George Dillon

Another living legend, Weathers was already famous for playing Apollo Creed in the Rocky movies prior to landing the part of the deceptive Dillon in Predator.

He went on to star in the criminally underrated Action Jackson and Dangerous Passion before carving out a career in the world of comedy with appearances in the Adam Sandler movies Happy Gilmore and Little Nicky along with the cult series Arrested Development.

He continues to work regularly on television, memorably guest starring in The Shield and most recently appearing on the show Chicago Justice.

Bill Duke as Mac Eliot

Schwarzenegger’s co-star on Commando prior to his appearance in Predator, Duke went on to feature in a glut of films including No Man’s Land and Action Jackson and even popped up in Sister Act 2: Back In The Habit, showcasing his comedic chops in the process.

More recently, Duke has featured in films like X-Men: The Last Stand and has guest starred on the procedural hit Law & Order: SVU.

Jesse Ventura as Blain Cooper

Former WWE wrestler Jesse “The Body” Ventura re-teamed with Schwarzenegger on his next film, The Running Man, before going on to make a string of appearances in films like Batman & Robin, Demolition Man and Richochet.

Like Arnie, he also embarked on a career in politics, serving as governor of Minnesota from 1999 to 2003 before opting not to stand for re-election. These days he works as a political author and television presenter on programmes centered on alien abductions and conspiracy theories.

Richard Chaves as Jorge "Poncho" Ramírez

Chaves followed up his appearance in Predator with a role on the short-lived War of the Worlds TV series, where his character garnered a cult following among fans.

He’s worked steadily in the years since, with appearances in films like LA Takedown and Weapons of Mass Distraction and several notable theatre and TV credits to his name. He’s rarely reached the same heights again though and is something of a semi-regular on the sci-fi movie convention circuit these days.

Sonny Landham as Billy Sole

Famous difficult to work with (Landham required his own bodyguard on set due to his own outrageous behaviour when drunk) Landham had already been in The Warriors and 48 Hours prior to Predator and, like Weathers and Duke, went on to appear in Action Jackson.

Landham struggled to find work later in his career, eventually embarking on a short-lived career in politics, attempting to win a seat in the US Senate. However, that plan went to pot after Landham made a seriously of controversial statements in an interview that led the Kentucky Libertarians to withdraw their support.
In October 2016, photos also emerged suggesting Landham had fallen on hard times, after losing both his legs, and was now homeless. Though never officially confirmed, a GoFundMe page was set up to help the stricken man.

Elpidia Carrillo as Anna Gonsalves

The American actress and director had already impressed in The Border and Salvador prior to landing the part of Anna in Predator.

She would go on to cameo, briefly, in the second film before continuing a career that saw her focus her efforts on Mexican television and movie productions, save for a few exceptions. She also landed roles on some major US TV shows off the back of Predator, including Miami Vice and 21 Jump Street. Her most recent film came with 2010’s Mother And Child.

Shane Black as Rick Hawkins

Appearing in Predator as something of a favour to producer Joel Silver, Black had already written the screenplay to Lethal Weapon by the time he appeared in the movie and was partly on set to learn more about the filmmaking process from John McTiernan.

He would go on to write, direct and sometimes do both on a whole host of movies including Lethal Weapon 2, Iron Man 3, The Nice Guys and The Long Kiss Goodnight.

Things have now gone full circle for Blacknow, who is directing The Predator – the next film in the franchise which is due for release in 2018.

Kevin Peter Hall as the Predator

After going on to reprise the role of Predator in Predator 2, Hall appeared in Big Top Pee-wee and guest starred on Star Trek: The Next Generation.

He also reprised his role as big-foot in the Harry and the Hendersons’ TV series but died during the show’s first series after contracting HIV from a blood transfusion. He passed away on April 10th 1991, aged just 35.
