Thunderpaw's Light: Prologe

Thunderpaw had been walking for a while now, but she still couldn't find what she was looking for.
"I know your here somewhere!" She hissed.
"Then come and get me..." She had heard that shadow voice before "Unless... you want to run back to your mother...like last time!"
"I'm not scared of you! I ran to tell my leader! "
"Did you?" The shadow voice continued.
"Yes!" Thunderpaw quickly looked around her.
Suddenly she saw a shadow like cat and lunged for it.
"Missed me! Try again! I dare you!" The shadow tanted.
Thunderpaw quivered. Than ran off.

Thunderpaw's Light: Chapter 1

"What will happen to us Redstar? What if the shadows attack camp?" Lightningfur mewed.
"Or worse!" cried a cat in the crowd.
"Don't worry" Redstar calmed her clanmates.
"You can find hope in the strangest places" Yellowpaw shrugged, but Thunderpaw's care free brother was always endlessly optimistic.
"Something is bothering me...like, I'm missing something!" Thunderpaw wailed, "What if I'm wrong?"
"Then you are exiled from the Clan!" Redstar joked "Whats the worst that could happen if your not right?" Cloudclan's leader asked.
Thunderpaw thought on it, then replied"...Not very many things..."
"No one is perfect Thunderpaw, and no one is asking you to be"

Thunderpaw stared into the night sky, I hope I'm wrong--Shadow cats, thats crazy! Or mabye...I'm crazy! Hope as she might, darkness was ahead, and there was nothing but a shard of light to stop it...

Thunderpaw's Light: Chapter 2

Thunderpaw woke late the next morning. Her mentor, Stormwhisker, stepped into the apprentice den.
“Thunderpaw! Good, your awake! Come with me.”
Thunderpaw and her mentor headed to the forest.
“We should practice your leaping.” Stormwhisker continued “Right…here! That's a good spot!”
Suddenly Stormwhisker got serious, “Is something wrong? You've been so quiet. Remember you can tell me anything Thunderpaw.”
“I know. I’m fine.” Thunderpaw lied, she has been so nervous and didn't feel comfortable telling her mentor…though she wanted to at the same time.
***
Thunderpaw carried a squirrel into camp and Stormwhisker carried a mouse.
“That’s all you could get? Your Clan is hungry and this is what you give them?” A shadow voice picked on her. The scared Apprentice rushed her prey to the fresh kill pile and hurried to her den.
***

“I know who you are!” A shadow-like figure appeared in Thunderpaw’s dreams.
“What do you want from me?” She wailed “Why wouldn’t you leave me alone?”
“What do I want from you? That's easy! You will be my apprentice.”
“I don’t want to be your apprentice!” Thunderpaw shivered.
No one does.” The shadow growled under her breath.
“Someone must!” Thunderpaw started “I’m sure, someone must!”
“Be my apprentice and all your dreams will come true!” The shadow continued, “I can do more than your Warrior friends can!”
“Really?”
“Yes!”
“…Something doesn't smell right…” Thunderpaw worried.
“What? It smells just fine.”
“No. Not that. I mean…I don’t trust you.” She looked down at her paws.
“Oh fine.” Suddenly the Shadow disappeared.
Thunderpaw took a deep breath “Okay…I can’t believe what I’m saying…I…will be your apprentice…”
The Shadow appeared again and slowly smiled.
“Do you know my name? My name is Thunderpaw.” She looked up from her paws, to she the shadow looking down at her.
“Call me Holly...”
***

Thunderpaw blinked her eyes open.
“Thunderpaw! Didn't you hear? Redstar called a Clan Meeting.” Yellowpaw stepped into the apprentice den.
Thunderpaw sighed, “I’m coming.” she got up and went toward the giant clearing in the middle of the gorge.
***
Redstar was waiting for her Clanmates to gather underneath the Tallrock.
“What is this about?” Thunderpaw asked Yellowpaw.
      “You’ll see.” Yellowpaw mewed patiently.
“My Clanmates, Lilidust has seen the shadows” Redstar nodded towards the Deputy.
“There were four of them and one of them seemed to be…their Leader. They looked like the some of the Warriors Moonstar, Waterstar, Goosestar and Pebblestar banished moons ago…except one, I don’t who that was…” Lilidust remembered. “You mean…Foxclaw, Quaileye and Clearwind?” Redstar breathed heavily.
      “…Yes.”
      The entire Clan started bickering.
“I say attack them right now!” shrieked a cat in the crowd.
“No! We need an insider!” Stormwhisker suggested, “Someone who knows their every move!”
A shiver ran up Thunderpaw’s back, what if they choose me? Holly will be angry!
“How do we know if they have an insider? In our camp?” A voice rang out.
“We don’t…” Lilidust looked down on her Clanmates from the Tallrock. Thunderpaw gulped.

Thunderpaw's Light: Chapter 3

When Redstar called the end of the Clan meeting Thunderpaw ran straight for the forest, then suddenly a shadow appeared.
“Are you a spy?” Holly growled
“What? No!” Thunderpaw started, “Holly…Are you evil?”
      “…Wh—what? Of c—coarse not…” Holly stammered.
“Are you sure?” Thunderpaw meowed suspiciously.
“I’m not evil! That would be…evil! Come with me.”
Thunderpaw didn’t trust her…but had no choice but to follow her.
      ***
      “Where are we?” Thunderpaw asked.
“We are in The Cave of Unfortunate Cats…”
“Oh okay…wait—did you just say The Cave of Unfortunate Cats?!” Thunderpaw winced.
      “What’s the problem?” Holly mewed.
“This is where cats can speak with evil dead cats!” Thunderpaw hissed in fear.
“That’s what they want you to think…” Holly continued, “These cats were evil…”
      “So…you are evil!” Thunderpaw growled.
“What makes you think that?” Holly hissed.
      “I’m leaving.” Thunderpaw decided.
“Wait! No! Don’t leave!” Holly frowned.
“Why? I’m not evil. I don’t want to be here.”
“Will you at least hear me out first?”
Thunderpaw sighed, then sat down on the cold cave floor.

“Not everyone has amazing parents.” Holly breathed heavily, “My mother and father were what you called evil…I didn’t want to, but they expected me and my three brothers to be. My eldest brother, Clearwind, turned out just as they wanted, and so did Foxclaw. Me and Breezeheart didn’t seem to have the fighting skill, Breezeheart wanted to become a medicine cat, and he would have been one of the best. But our parents said no…I don’t think he has ever been so sad in his life. I was sad too…no one liked to talk to me except Breezeheart and he was my brother so I really cared…”
Thunderpaw broke in, “Wait…your brothers are Clearwind and Foxclaw?!”
“Yes. I’m sorry to say, but I’m not proud of it!” Holly looked at her paws, “I tried to be evil but…it’s just not in my nature. And when Breezeheart died in a fox attack…I…I was all alone…I was given an apprentice. His name was Stormpaw, later Stormwhisker.”
      “My Mentor!” Thunderpaw smiled.
“Yes your mentor. He was an…unusual apprentice.” Holly sighed.
“What kind of unusual?” Thunderpaw grinned.
“Well…he was more challenged than unusual.”
      “Challenged?” Thunderpaw asked.
“Let me say he had no imagination, but he had a lot of skill.” Holly remembered, “We got along well until…we had a…argument. He told me he didn’t want me as a mentor…”
“What happened next?” Thunderpaw looked up at Holly.
“…nothing much.” Holly looked away, “You should go home.”
      Thunderpaw sighed, “I guess so.”

Thunderpaw's Light: Chapter 4

“Wait!” Thunderpaw mewed, “Where did you go?”
Suddenly Holly jumped onto Thunderpaw’s back “You have to be better than this!”
“I’m trying!” Thunderpaw complained “But you’re to fast!”
“Is that what your going to say to the other Clans in battle?” Holly continued, “They will think you are weak. Unlike them I give you more chances.”
      “I’m doing my best!”
“I can see that…” Holly sighed.
Nothing is good enough for you…Thunderpaw thought, I should give up…
“Get up and try again Thunderpaw. The key to success is to keep trying!” Holly ordered.
      ***
      “Great job Thunderpaw!” Stormwhisker smiled.
“The key is to keep trying.” Thunderpaw remembered.
“You are getting so much stronger; any Warrior could think you have two mentors!”
“You have no idea…” Thunderpaw giggled quietly.
      ***

“Redstar?” Thunderpaw waited outside her leader’s den.
“Thunderpaw? Is that you? Come in.” Redstar mewed, “Is something the matter?”
      “Its about the shadows.”
“Please get to the point.” Redstar’s tail twitched impatiently.
“…How do we know they are evil? Why not try to make them our friends?” Thunderpaw suggested.
Redstar choked, “Who in Starclans name put that in your head!?”
Thunderpaw hung her head and looked at her paws.
“Sorry…It’s just…you never knew the shadows…not like I did.” Redstar apologised.
“Its okay.” Thunderpaw smiled “I understand.”
“Not everyone can be trusted.” Redstar reminded her.
“I know. It’s just better to have allies than enemies.”
“Not when your allies are dangerous. Then they can’t really be allies.”
“Thanks Redstar.” Thunderpaw turned to leave.
      “Anytime Thunderpaw, anytime.”
Thunderpaw met Yellowpaw at the fresh kill pile. “What was that about?” Yellowpaw asked.
“Shadows.” Thunderpaw sat down with her brother.
“That's all everyone talks about now.” Yellowpaw rolled his eyes.
      “Even you?”
“Okay not everyone. But a lot of cats.”
“I wonder if Blazeclan, Dustclan or Dawnclan has seen them.”
“I hope not...” Yellowpaw looked in the direction of the Blazeclan border.
“Why? You shouldn’t feel pity for the other clans.” Thunderpaw rolled her eyes.
“Because Blazeclan will be all like, we were so brave. The other clans better watch out, those Shadows are dangerous, well at least for Cloudclan!”
“You’re right, they will do that! I hope Redstar mentions it first!”
      “I do too.”
      ***

“So Yellowpaw and I were hoping that Redstar mentioned it first.” Thunderpaw told Sunpaw.
“I see.” Sunpaw yawned, “So why are you dragging me out here in the middle of the night?”
“Thunderpaw?” Holly’s voice came from nearby bushes.
      “Who’s there?!” squeaked Sunpaw.
      “A friend.” Thunderpaw spoke sternly.
“Holly, meet Sunpaw.” Holly stepped out of the bushes.
      “Uh…hello Sunpaw.” Holly mewed.
      “It’s a Shadow!!” Sunpaw hissed.
“Sunpaw wait! She wouldn’t hurt you!” Thunderpaw called.
      “Are you sure?”
“I’m right here you know!” Holly smiled.
“Don’t you know why Shadows don’t go to Starclan?” Sunpaw wailed. “They are evil! They died evil!”
Thunderpaw gave him a blank stare. “But she changed…” She turned to Holly “I think”.
      “I have changed! I promise.”
      “You promise?” Sunpaw calmed down.
“I promise.” Holly looked straight at them.
“If Holly is good then why haven’t you told Redstar?”
“She wouldn’t understand, but I knew you would!”
“What are friends for?” Sunpaw smiled.

Thunderpaw's Light: Chapter 5

“Now by the power of Starclan, you Sunpaw, shall now be known as…Sunspark!” Redstar smiled.
“Sunspark! Sunspark!” Cloudclan cheered.
“Thunderpaw.” Sunspark padded towards his best friend.
“Sunspark.” Thunderpaw grinned, “You have a great warrior name.”
“I’m sure yours will be just as good.” Sunspark walked with her.
“To bad it won’t come as fast.”
“Holly and Stormwhisker are training you well.”
      “I know.” Thunderpaw sighed.
“Just one more moon. You can wait, you’re waited a bunch already.”
      “Don’t remind me!”
“No promises…” He smiled.
      ***
“One more moon. More like seven!” Thunderpaw complained.
“No. It only feels like seven.” Holly grinned.
“How would you know?” Thunderpaw rolled her eyes.
“I was an apprentice once.” Holly looked up into the stars.
“Then how come you don’t have a Clan Cat name?”
      “I…just prefer Holly.”
      “Why?” Thunderpaw asked.
“Would you like to be called Thunderkit or Thunderpaw?” Holly started.
“Why would I want to be called Thunderkit?”
“Exactly. Every cat will call me Holly because that is what I want to be called.”
Thunderpaw rolled her eyes, “Why wouldn’t a Clan Cat be called by their warrior name?”
      “I’m Holly and that’s that!”
      ***

“Thunderpaw! You’re on my Dawn Patrol!” Stormwhisker called, and Thunderpaw joined him.
“Thunderkit!” A voice from the bushes whisper-shouted. “Their coming! Watch out!” The voice appeared to be Holly’s.
“I’m not Thunderkit! Not now.” Thunderpaw ignored her.
“The shadows are coming, your patrol is in danger!” Holly warned, but Thunderpaw didn’t hear.

When the patrol reached the Dustclan border, shadows leaped out of nowhere.
“Thunderpaw! Warn the camp!” Snowsplash shrieked.
Then a shadow slashed Thunderpaw and pinned her down. “Let go of me!” Thunderpaw pleaded.
“When has that ever worked?” sneered the shadow.
Suddenly Holly appeared. “Get away from my friend.” Holly tore the shadow off Thunderpaw.
      “H-holly…” Thunderpaw smiled. “T-t-thanks…”
      “Thank Starclan!” Holly breathed heavily.
“Shadow!” Stormwhisker yowled, “Everyone stand back!” His eyes narrowed as he leaped at Holly.
“No!” Thunderpaw growled at her mentor, as she stopped his attack.
“What are you doing? This is a shadow! Starclan, which side are you on?!” Stormwhisker looked both angry and helpless.
“I am on your side…” She looked up to Stormwhisker. “But I can’t let you hurt her.”
      “Why?”
“She is my best friend…so don’t lay a claw on her.”

Thunderpaw's Light: Chapter 6

“Thunderpaw…This-this is unforgiveable!” Redstar had been told about ‘Thunderpaw’s alliance’ with Holly, “I ban you from leaving the camp at night! You must never see that shadow again.”
“You mean Holly…don’t you?”
“You mean Hollystar?”
“Holly. Hollystar is pure evil!” Thunderpaw argued.
“I’ve only seen one cat that has one grey patch on her ear and one grey patch around her eye.” Redstar continued. “‘Holly’ as you call her, is Hollystar!”
Thunderpaw sat there looking betrayed. “But she wouldn’t!”
“She would!” Redstar hissed, “You will be spending the next one-no-two moons seeing to the elder’s every wish!”
Thunderpaw hung her head, not only am I banned from seeing Hollystar, I am punished for becoming friends with a shadow! I have never been angrier in my life! How was I supposed to know that was against the rules?!

Thunderpaw padded to the Elder’s den.
“Great! The traitor. We elder’s always get stuck with the bad apprentices!” Wildfeather rolled his eyes.
“Don’t listen to Wildfeather. He just ended up with the sour mouse from the fresh kill pile today.” Softwind meowed.
“I thought all elders were mean and grouchy.” Thunderpaw sat down beside Softwind to pick ticks.
“Most are, you got lucky.” Softwind purred.
“So why weren’t you banished?” Wildfeather asked.
Sunspark stepped inside, “Yellowpaw and I changed Redstar’s mind.” And before Thunderpaw could ask ‘What are you doing here?’ Sunspark answered her question. “Yellowpaw didn’t want you to miss your assessment, so since I knew about Holly-Hollystar we will share the blame. Instead of two moons, we will be in here for a half-moon.” Sunspark started grooming Wildfeather.
“Really? Um…thanks!” Thunderpaw smiled. “…Don’t elders tell stories?”

“Not to traitors!” Wildfeather protested.
“I have a story.” Softwind calmly ignored Wildfeather’s rude comment.
“Here we go again!” Wildfeather rolled his eyes.
Softwind cleared her throat, “When I was an apprentice I made friends with a cat named Ivypaw on the quest to find The Terror cats and The Caretakers of the Forest. Ivypaw was a Terror cat.”
“Are Terror Cats evil?” Sunspark interrupted.
“Only when they want to be. Ivypaw was different than any cat I have ever met. And his family was small, he never knew his father, his three sisters died while they were born and his mentor was a pawful! But I was patient with him.-”
“This is a love story isn’t it?” Sunspark asked Wildfeather, as the elder nodded.
“Ivypaw told me once that he loved a cat named Starpaw-”
“I’m going to get something from the fresh kill pile. Would any cat like prey?” Sunspark got up.
“I’d like a vole.” Wildfeather answered.
Softwind gave a look to Sunspark that meant, ‘Can I continue?’.
She continued anyway, “I felt a little heart broken. Then I saw them talking at a gathering and noticed that…that they were perfect.” Softwind sighed, “My only regret is never telling Ivypaw how I feel…”
Thunderpaw felt her heart ache for Softwind, “That is so sad!”
“Thank Starclan its over.” Wildfeather grumbled.

Yellowpaw and Thunderpaw walked up to their mentors.
“Its finally time for your assessments!” Skystep smiled at the two apprentices.
Stormwhisker turned to Thunderpaw, “For your assessment you must catch a vole and then find me in the forest, all before dusk.” He nodded towards the wood.
      Thunderpaw smiled eagerly.
“Go on then.” He snapped impatiently as Thunderpaw bounced into the forest.
Suddenly the scent of vole caught Thunderpaw’s nose. She spotted her prey and slowly padded towards it, her tail low. The vole luckily didn’t see her and continued to nibble on a seed.
Thunderpaw stepped on a branch, no! she thought.
The vole dashed into the forest as Thunderpaw quickly followed, not very far behind. The vole made a fast turn, I’m losing it!
Suddenly a branch came lose from a tree and fell, it blocked the voles path as Thunderpaw caught it.
“Yes!” She smiled as she sniffed around for Stormwhisker’s scent. “I wish I had a sign with where he went.” Thunderpaw looked at the sun, it’s not dusk yet, then at the branches fell.
“It’s worth a try.” Thunderpaw followed where the branch pointed. Thunderpaw padded along the crooked path. ‘I should search from above!’, she thought.
Thunderpaw leaped into a low branch and then climbed up to one of the tallest branches.

Thunderpaw's Light: Chapter 7

As she looked from above she saw some branches shift, revealing a gray furred cat-Stormwhisker!
The excited apprentice jumped from branch to branch. “Found you!” She cried as she landed on a branch near her mentor, “Too easy!” Thunderpaw smiled.
“How did you get the idea to search from above?” Stormwhisker asked looking away from Thunderpaw.
      “I don’t know…” She lied.
Thunderpaw watched her mentor pad up to Redstar. She over heard them, “Only Hollystar climbed trees…”
It was dusk when Yellowpaw and his mentor Skystep padded into camp.
“I think I did really well!” Yellowpaw beamed, “How did you do?” He walked up to his sister.
      “…I think I did well…but I might not get a Warrior name…” Thunderpaw sighed.
      “What?! Why not?!”
      “Because of…you know why…”
“I know what you need.” Yellowpaw got up, “Come with me.” He and Thunderpaw padded towards the medicine den.
“Are you going to shove herbs down me?” Thunderpaw worried “They taste terrible!”
“No silly! I think you need to talk to Fawnmist. I come to talk to Fawnmist when I need someone to complain to or to get something off my mind.” He explained. “Fawnmist?”

“Is there anything I can do for you Yellowpaw? Oh! Thunderpaw, how did the assessment go?” Fawnmist greeted the apprentices.
      Thunderpaw shrugged.
“I’ll leave you two.” Yellowpaw left the medicine den.
“…I hope I’m not bugging you.” Thunderpaw sat beside her.
“If I can help in any way you cannot bother me. So tell me, what is wrong?” Fawnmist mewed compassionately.
Thunderpaw couldn’t hold it in any longer, “…Everyone thinks my best friend is EVIL! It makes me so mad I want to smash something! And Redstar thinks I’m some kind of traitor! Only cats like Sunspark and Yellowpaw aren’t telling me I’m evil! I can’t stand it any longer!” Tears fell from Thunderpaw’s eyes, “No one knows her like I do.”
“I’m willing to try.” Fawnmist curled her tail around the crying apprentice. “Tell me about her.”
      “Can you keep a secret?”
      “Yes.”
“Hollystar can visit me in my dreams.”
      Fawnmist had an idea.
      ***

“I’m not a medicine cat. I shouldn’t be here.” Thunderpaw had been walking with Fawnmist to the dreampool.
“I want to see her and she will only appear in your dreams.” Fawnmist mewed. “Dip your nose in the water and wait.”
“Why do you want to see her now?” Thunderpaw obeyed as she continued, “Why not wait till later?”
“Because I believe that shadows can change, just like you.”
Thunderpaw nodded as she drifted off to sleep.
***
“Thunderpaw!” Hollystar smiled, “How was your assessment?”
      “Great, I think…”
“Are you…Hollystar?”, Fawnmist padded up to them as she appeared.
      Hollystar slowly stepped back.
“She wouldn’t hurt you. I trust her.” Thunderpaw calmed her friend.
      “Fawnpaw?” Hollystar’s eyes opened wide.
      “I’m Fawnmist now…Are you…back?”
      “Of course.”
Fawnmist looked at Hollystar’s trembling tail, “What is it?”
“A battle is coming.” Her eyes glimmered with fright.
      “A battle?!” Thunderpaw choked.
“Yes. My brothers are rising up…I can’t stop them…” Hollystar looked at Thunderpaw, “The trees will help you.”
***

“I, Redstar, leader of Cloudclan, call upon our warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn.” Redstar lifted her nose high, then smiling at Yellowpaw she went on, “Yellowpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect Cloudclan, even at the cost of your life?”
      “I do.”
“Then, by the powers of Starclan, you, Yellowpaw, shall now be known as Yellowlight!”
      Cloudclan cheered “Yellowlight! Yellowlight!”
In the crowd, Thunderpaw cheered the loudest, “Woo hoo! Yellowlight!”
Yellowlight licked his chest in embarrassment.
“Thunderpaw.” Redstar smiled, “Its your turn.”
      Thunderpaw froze.
“It is time for you to get your warrior name.”

Thunderpaw's Light: Chapter 8

“M-me?” She stood in shock, then shook her head and stepped forward. This is all I’ve ever wanted!
“I, Redstar, leader of Cloudclan, call upon our warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. she has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn. Thunderpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect Cloudclan, even at the cost of your life?”
      “I do.”
“Then, by the powers of Starclan, you, Thunderpaw, shall now be known as Thundershine!”
      “Thundershine! Thundershine!”
Yellowlight smiled at his sister, leaning toward her ear and whispering, “You got your Warrior name.”
“Was there ever any doubt?” Thundershine smiled back.
***
“Thundershine!” Sunspark called.
“Hi!” She mewed.
“You were great.” He admired her.
“All I had to do was say ‘I do’.” Thundershine giggled.
“I know…but you did that great!”
“You mousebrain!”
Sunspark rolled his eyes.
Thundershine recognized Hollystar’s voice, “Thunderpaw!” Hollystar whispered.
The new Warrior spun around, “What are you doing in camp?!” She whisper-shouted.
“I need to talk to you!”
“…Sorry Sunspark, Hollystar has an emergency to tend to. I have to go.”
“Okay.” He sighed. “See you later.”

Thundershine raced out of camp with Hollystar on her tail.
“What is it?” She sounded angry.
“Was I interrupting something?” The shadow grinned.
“What? No…” Thundershine looked away.
“Anyway… look at my tail!”
“Why?”
“Just look at it!”
Thundershine looked at Hollystar’s tail, suddenly realizing that it was starting to look…Starclan like.
“Why is it all…starry?” She asked.
“How in Starclans name would I know?” Hollystar snapped.
Because I believe that shadows can change, just like you. Thundershine remembered Fawnmist.
“I’ll be right back!” Thundershine dashed back to camp. “Fawnmist?!”
“What is it? Are you hurt?” Fawnmist poked out of the medicine den.
“I need you to come with me!” Thundershine nodded towards the forest.
“Okay.” Fawnmist padded into the forest with Thundershine.
***
“Fawnmist?” Hollystar asked.
“Not now! Fawnmist, Hollystar is changing into a Starclan cat.” The new Warrior told her, “Just look at her tail!”
“Impossible!” Fawnmist examined the shadow’s tail.
“Obviously not.” Hollystar rolled her eyes, “What does this mean?”
“It means I was right.” Thundershine meowed, “It means Hollystar is truly good.”

Thunderpaw's Light: Chapter 9

“I think we should tell Redstar.” Fawnmist decided.
“No! She won’t understand…” Thundershine argued.
“But- the battle!”
Thundershine sighed, “I guess we don’t have a choice.”
***
“Redstar?” Thundershine waited with Fawnmist outside the leader’s den.
“What is it?” Redstar asked sternly.
“Will you hear us out?” Fawnmist snapped.
“Fine.”
“We have reason to believe Hollystar is turning good.” Thundershine mewed quickly.
Redstar eyed Fawnmist, “Is this true?”
“Yes. I promise she is on our side.” The medicine cat answered her leader, “And she seems to be spying for us…a battle is coming.”
Redstar’s eyes opened wide. “What?! Why?!”
“We don’t know. I don’t think Hollystar knows either.”
“Bring her to me.” Redstar ordered.
“I don’t know-” Thundershine protested.
Bring her to me.
Fawnmist nodded.
“Hollystar will not want to come into our camp, we should go to her.” Thundershine told her leader.
“…Very well.” Redstar padded to the forest, then stopped, “Lead the way.”
***

Hollystar spotted the three looking for her, when her gaze fell upon Redstar, she stepped back.
“Redstar.” She got their attention.
“Hollystar.” Cloudclans’ leader carefully padded towards the Starclan turning shadow, “I didn’t come here to make friends. I came here to find out what you know about the battle coming.”
“I know that the other shadows are rising up.” Hollystar answered, “And I know that they trust me on their side… but I’m on yours.”
“Why spy for us?” Redstar asked.
“Because it is my destiny. It was my destiny to meet and train Thunderpaw-”
“Thundershine.” The new Warrior corrected.
“It was also my destiny to help the clans. And to deliver Thundershine her prophecy.”

“Prophecy?” Fawnmist seemed not very surprised.
Hollystar turned to her best friend, “She will be born with stars in her eyes. Able to see what others cannot. She will speak to the trees, and they will listen. The trees will help you.” And with that Hollystar turned into Starclan cat, “Thank you Thundershine. Now I will be able to go to Starclan, and finally, see my brother, Breezeheart, again.”
Hollystar disappeared into Starclan.
“Now she will finally be at peace.” Fawnmist smiled.
“Now I may never see her again…” Thundershine hung her head.
“…I am sorry Thundershine. You were right and I was wrong. I’m sorry.” Redstar looked at the sky, “The sun is going down. Go sit your vigil with your brother.”
Thundershine obeyed, she was happy for Hollystar, but sad for herself, as she silently cried back to camp.

Thunderpaw's Light: Chapter 10

***
Thundershine and Yellowlight watched the sun rise, their vigil was over.
Yellowlight yawned, “Finally…I’m so tired!”
Whitewhisker peeked out of the warrior’s den, “Keep it down, will ya?”
“Sorry Whitewhisker.” Thundershine whispered eyeing Yellowlight.
“Yeah, sorry…” He whispered.
“You survived your vigil.” Sunspark padded up to Thundershine.
“Was there ever any doubt?” She replied back.
“Well…” Sunspark teased.
“Well what?” Thundershine asked.
“Nothing.” He smiled.
Suddenly a shadow wisped by the camp, along with another, and another.
“Did you see that?!” Thundershine whisper shouted.
“See what?” Sunspark looked around.
“…Thundershine…Thundershine…”
“Did you hear that?!” She panicked.
“Are you joking? I don’t know what your talking about.” He sniffed the air.
“Are you joking?” She ran to the warrior’s den.
“Help! Fawnmist!” Ravenfeather screeched, “We have injured cats!”
Sunspark searched the camp for the medicine cat, “Fawnmist!?”
“I’m here, where are the injured cats?” Fawnmist ran into camp with bundles of herbs in her mouth.
“Over here!” Sunspark yowled.
“Thank you.” She replied, sniffing at Ravenfeather’s injuries.

Sunspark peered into the warrior’s den, to find Thundershine sleeping.
“You better not be thinking of waking her.”
Sunspark jumped, to see Yellowlight behind him, “Sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you. Though…you scare easy.” Yellowlight smiled.
“Ha. Ha.” Sunspark rolled his eyes.
“You better be treating my sister well.” Yellowlight eyed him.
“What do you mean…?” Sunspark avoided looking at Yellowlight, embarrassed, while hot under his fur.
“You know what I mean.” Yellowlight mewed sternly, “Be careful with her, okay?” He continued protectively.
“Uh…okay.”
Thundershine poked her head up, “Are you talking about me?”
Yellowlight jumped. “Oh! I didn’t realise you were awake.”
“You scare easy too then.” Sunspark whispered.
“You know I can still hear you, right? You two are not very good at whispering.” Thundershine smiled.
“I know, he isn’t.” Yellowlight teased Sunspark.
Thundershine laughed, “Thanks. I needed that.”

Thunderpaw's Light: Chapter 11

Hollystar padded along side Breezeheart in Starclan.
“We must stop them!” Breezeheart mewed to his sister, his blue pelt brushing hers.
“I know.” Hollystar walked beside him, “But should we prevent this battle? Isn’t that for Thunderpaw-Thundershine to do?”
“If there is any chance on stopping this war faster, I say we give it a go!” Breezeheart suddenly stopped, they had reached their destination.
“After you.” Hollystar nodded at Breezeheart.
“If you say so…”

Thundershine looked around, “Hello?” She saw a golden sun shining in the sky, the sky was a beautiful light blue violet color, and with the clouds the sky looked magical, then suddenly, red, the color of blood, covered the sky, the sun was going down, but the sun was to late, and the blood red soon covered it.
Thundershine quickly opened her eyes, to see the sunrise.
“Its going to be a beautiful day.” Yellowlight smiled beside her, “I just know it!”
Thundershine tried her best to hide her worries, for today…was the day. And today will bring tragedy.
As the day went on Thundershine began to watch the sun as it glowed.
Whoosh!
“What was that?” Sunspark jumped.
Thundershine wisped around.
“Be careful.” She meowed.
“Why? What was that?” He worried.
“Trouble.” Thundershine answered, “Lets get back to camp.”
***
“Help!” Dustclan ran into Cloudclan camp, and their leader fell onto the ground.
“What is going on?” Redstar stepped out of her den, puzzled.
“We need help!” a Dustclan warrior pleaded. “Our leader is badly hurt! Shadows attacked our camp!”
“Shadows?!” Thundershine gasped, “But—its not even sun-down yet!”
“You seem to know more than you are letting on…” Sunspark looked at Thundershine, “How do you know all this?”
“Starclan gave me dreams, and a prophecy…and a friend…to figure this out.”
“Hold on a moment!” Redstar silenced Thundershine with a flick of her tail, “You said dreams.”

“I had a dream that the sky was swallowed in blood red…” Thundershine answered.
“Cloudclan! Redstar! We need help!” Dawnclan raced into the camp, “Our territory is over run!”
Thundershine stared at the sky, soon it would be sun down.
“Then that means…” Yellowlight worried, “That Blazeclan is next…”
