It's just the one swan actually...

Like a scene from the Simon Pegg police comedy Hot Fuzz, officers were spotted chasing after a lone swan along the M27 yesterday.
Two lanes were closed while police and car drivers tried to move the stubborn bird off the road.
A driver told BBC Radio Solent that she had seen the swan flying in front of her car, and helped guide it on the hard shoulder before it was taken away.

Horses sent round the bend

Police were called to Havant in the early hours of a December morning last year after a caller claimed to have seen a horse on a major roundabout.
But when officers arrived, they found four of them grazing on the Purbrook Way roundabout in Leigh Park.
The animals were led away by officers and taken to a field east of Hulbert Road.

Get a moo-ve on!

It's not the kind of thing you expect to see during your lunch hour.
Stunned motorists called police back in 2013 after a cow ran onto the A3M northbound, trying to avoid the passing traffic.
An onlooker told The News that she had called the police after spotting the young brown animal near Bedhampton.
The route was briefly shut while police and animal rescue teams cornered and took away the scared cow.

From guinea pigs to Shetland ponies...

It wasn't just the one animal that had to be rescued from the A3M north in 2007 after a trailer flipped over.
Fire crews helped to recover more than a dozen animals, including a pig, two lambs, a mini Shetland pony, a calf, two guinea pigs, a hen and two chicks, a rabbit and five baby rabbits.
The animals, which were in the trailer, were moved to a new vehicle so the road could be cleared.

And one that wasn't quite what it appeared...

The alarm was raised back in 2011 when drivers claimed to have spotted a tiger lying down near the M27.
Police helicopters and staff from Marwell Zoo headed to Hedge End as fears grew about the large cat. Play was even stopped at the Rose Bowl while the operation was ongoing.
But fortunately, to the embarrassment of the authorities, the 'tiger' turned out to be a cuddly toy left behind a dog walker.
Not so dangerous after all then. Not like the real tiger we've pictured above.
