Should students be able to post possibly threatening things online?

Landon Wynar, a Nevada high school student, posted messages online referring to guns and shooting people on the anniversary of the Columbine and Virginia Tech massacres, which he claimed were only jokes. These online messages resulted in a 90-day expulsion for the student.
