10 Celebrities You Didn't Know Were In The Harry Potter Movies

Michelle Fairley is best known for her role as Catelyn Stark on HBO's Game of Thrones. Before her stint on the hit show though, she played Hermione's mother in Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 1.

Before Julianne was a celebrity dancing queen on the hit competition show, Dancing with the Stars, she was an extra in the Harry Potter movies as a Gryffindor student. She was also rumoured to have had a crush on Daniel Radcliffe and even gave him a valentine's card. Awww!

Julianne and Derek never stray too far away from each other, so of course they BOTH had to be cast as extras in Harry Potter. Derek was a Ravenclaw who is clearly seen walking down the hall with an owl in the first movie.

Youtube sensation Zoella was only ten years old when she was asked to be an extra in the first Harry Potter film. Unfortunately she ended up getting cut out of the movie but still had a great experience watching Spiderman with the cast and also got asked out by Devon Murray (who plays Seamus Finnigan) to which she said "no". 

We know Scarlett from her role as Nora Hildegard on the hit show "Vampire Diaries". But what you may have been totally unaware of is that she also played a Slytherin, Pansy Parkinson in the later Harry Potter films.

You know Jamie best from his role as Caius in the Twilight movies, but did you know he played a young Gellert Grindelwald in Harry Potter and The Dealthy Hallows? He's only in the film for a couple seconds, but is VERY convincing as a hot, young wizard.

You may not have known this, but Mark Ballas actually lived with Julianne and Derek Hough when he was a kid in England. The three of them attended the same performing arts school and were recruited as extras for the Harry Potter movies. Ballas can be seen in the first movie's sorting hat scene as a Hufflepuff for a brief second.

You might recognize Freddie from HBO's hit series Game of Thrones or maybe from his role as "hot radio station manager" in the movie Pitch Perfect. Well, did you know that he also played a "hot quidditch player" named Cormac McLaggen for Gryffindor?

Can you say "pop pop"? We all know Luke from his genius portrayal of "Magnitude" on the hit NBC show "Community", but did you know that he played "Lee Jordan" in the Harry Potter films? That cute little Gryffindor kid who was obsessed with Quidditch?

John Cleese may sound like a pretty obvious choice for a Harry Potter film, but I swear he's almost unrecognizable as "Nearly Headless Nick", the famous Gryffindor house ghost.
