TEEN REBELLION IN THE 1950s

Rock N Roll was the main start of the Teen rebellion along with television and moving pictures.

Elvis Presley was an icon to Teens and he was one the famous faces that contributed to teen rebelling. His music being the blame for Drug use, Alcohol abuse, and Violence.

Another famous face that contributed to teens rebelling was James Dean. His roles that he has played in moving pictures had made the teens look at him as someone they should act like which caused a lot of boys to dress the way he did.

Greasers was a way teens (more specifically ) would rebel. Teens became greaser to stand out in the crowd and be different than society's standards.

They way boy used to dress up as a way of rebelling was going against their dress code and that was wearing black leather, denim jeans, and having their hair greased/slicked back.

The way teenage girls dressed to show rebellion was also going against their dress codes. For example short shorts became popular for girls and growing their hair long and having big hairstyles.
