Last week, 26 baby bulldogs were rescued from a sweltering van in a Walmart parking lot in New Jersey.
The local SPCA responded to the scene, after receiving reports that a man was illegally trying to sell the pups out of the back of the van.
Upon rescue, the SPCA determined that the temperature inside the car was well over 90 degrees.
If the baby bulldogs had spent any more time in the van, they probably would not have survived.
Bulldogs in particular have a difficult time cooling down because they are brachycephalic, having short noses, so they have a difficult time cooling down by panting."

Luckily, all 26 pups were rescued, and they're receiving excellent care while waiting out their required medical quarantines, and the SPCA settles the charges against the person who was driving the van.

However, the dogs are not able to be adopted until the SPCA closes out their case. But in the meantime, the puppies will have all the food, water, and soft places to sleep!
