Pictured here is the southern viscacha. While there are other types within the Andes, this type adorably looks like a long-tailed rabbit.

"Spectacled" because of the unique markings around their eyes, these bears are the only surviving member of the short-faced bear subfamily.

Expert Andean grazers, these geese call 3,000+ meters above sea level home. And, they reserve their (lack of) swimming abilities only for emergencies.

Roaming alone, culpeos are considered opportunistic hunters, meaning: while they'd prefer quality, they'll take what they can get.
