6 Things Donald Trump Needs to Know About Hispanics Before He Dies

When reality TV star Donald Trump launched his infamous campaign for president of the United States, he did so by attacking the Hispanic community with outrageous lies. Here are a few things the Donald should know about the group of Americans he has attacked the most. Hispanics are not criminals, they are hard-working, honest individuals that, just like other Americans, but with the 2016 election being so close, they might well determine who sits in the Oval Office next year.

Hispanics made up more than 8% of voters in the 2012 Presidential Election.

Although it may seem like a small figure, the Hispanic vote is crucial in at least half of the so-called swing sates in 2016. In heavily Hispanic states like Florida, Nevada, Colorado and maybe even Arizona, the Hispanic voter could make it easier for Hillary Clinton to become the first female president of the United States.

Conservative icon Ronald Reagan, did not think Hispanics were “rapists” or “murderers”

In fact, President Reagan famously said that “Latinos are Republicans. They just don’t know it yet.” So the next time you hear Trump talking trash about Hispanics, remember his idol not only had a very high opinion of the Hispanic community but…

… was also responsible for passing one of the most comprehensive immigration reform bills (yes, amnesty!) in US History.

Millions of “illegal aliens” were granted legal residency and a path to citizenship thanks to this bill. Obama’s executive actions on immigration, which only grant work permits to some undocumented immigrants, would pale in comparison to President Reagan’s massive immigration reform.

More than 67% of Hispanics sixteen and older are active participants of the civilian workforce.

Perhaps surprising to the Donald, a vast majority of Hispanics are not drug-dealers (I know, its shocking!). They actually constitute majorities in construction and agricultural and maintenance industries; they basically keep American fed and clean.

5

Not only are Hispanics doing a lot of jobs US citizens aren’t likely to do, but over a million Hispanics are veterans of the US armed forces.

Yes, when America goes to war, Hispanic blood spills defending our freedom and interests just as any other racial or ethnic group in the United States. Not that Trump would care, given the low esteem he has shown for veterans like Senator John McCain.

And finally, Hispanics really, really don’t like Donald Trump.

Not that it is much of a surprise, but a recent Univision polls showed that the overwhelming majority of Hispanics (77%) have a very unfavorable opinion of the Republican candidate for president. That same poll also showed that Hillary Clinton, the Democratic candidate for president, was seen favorably by almost 70% of Hispanics. So if Hispanic voters turn out en masse, Trump is in for a being disappointment in November.
