The Big Winners
The ruling right-wing VVD Party led by Mark Rutte which fought off a populist challenge by the controversial Geert Wilders
The centrist Democrats 66 (D66) lead by Alexander Pechtold gained 7 seats
GreenLeft led by the young Jesse Klaver gained 10 seats by unabashedly championing a left-wing, pro-refugee agenda
The EU. Rutte's victory ensures the Netherlands membership in the EU won't be put to a referendum.
The Big Losers
The far right PVV led by the anti-Islamic populist Geert Wilders gained 5 seats but failed to oust the ruling government.
Right-wing European populism took a big blow with Wilders' loss.
The traditional, centre-left Labour party lost and lost BIG. Loosing 29 seats!
