Wynar v. Douglas County School District

In 2013, Nevada high school student Landon Wynar sent online messages to a few of his friends in which he talked about guns and shooting people on the anniversary of the Columbine and Virginia Tech massacres. Word got to a football coach, and Wynar was expelled for 90 days. The court decided to compare this case to another student-speech case, Tinker v.
