Alaska, USA

Alaska is home to Porcupine Creek, a small mining town where gold was first discovered in 1898. It is also where it all began for our Gold Rush miners, who disillusioned and jobless due to the economic downturn, made the gamble to find their fortune in gold at Porcupine Creek. In their first gold mining season at Porcupine Creek, the Hurt Crew uncover 80.4 oz (2,280 g) of gold, worth $125,000! Meanwhile, at the Big Nugget Mine, founded by Parker Schnabel's Grandfather John, the Schnabel Crew recovered 34 oz (960 g) of gold, generating a total worth of $55,000.

The Klondike, Yukon, Canada

When gold was first found by the Klondike river, Yukon in 1896, it triggered one of the greatest gold rushes in history. Between the years of 1896 and 1899 an army of gold mining hopefuls set off along this path to find their golden riches. Following in the footsteps of these historic men, Parker, Karla Ann and Rick travel the same perilous route. The team journey along 600 miles of mountains, wading through freezing lakes and rivers and battle plummeting temperatures.

Oregon, USA

Gold mining in Oregon dates back to as early as 1850 and Oregon's historic "gold belt" covers an area about 100 miles long and 50 miles wide. In the 7th season of Gold Rush, Todd Hoffman takes a big gamble, turning his back on guaranteed gold in the Klondike for his home state of Oregon. Unfortunately, Todd's gamble doesn't pay off - his 5,000-ounce goal for the season is shattered and he leaves Oregon with nothing...

Guyana, South America

The treacherous jungles of Guyana, South America, are some of the most prospective, yet under-explored, gold regions in the world. In 2016, over £625 million in gold was mined in Guyana. At the legendary site of the mythical El Dorado, or lost City of Gold, where Todd and his crew failed to find gold, Parker and his crew decide to brave these dense and humid rain forests in search of a 21st century gold rush.
