Hurricane and Tropical Storm Harvey has displaced tens of thousands of people, and also their pets, in a devastating storm of historic standing.

Many pets have been stranded in the scramble to escape areas of Texas that are completely underwater. Here, a team of amazing humans carries a gaggle of kitters to safety. A total of six cats were rescued in this effort, which is going viral after similar pictures of people rescuing dogs have made the rounds online.

This little guy doesn't know it yet, but he'll soon be in a safe place.

These poor kitties had no idea what was in store for them, especially when they got picked up together in the same cage and rescued from the horrible flooding that's taken over most of southeast Texas. We're not sure how these cats got left behind, but we're so, so happy some Good Samaritans were able to bring them to safety.

Once they got to the shelter, there was crazy demand to foster the rescued kitties.

Apparently, people lined up outside the shelter, called Austin Pets Alive, for over two hours for a chance to foster the rescued kitties. Here, one of the kitties has dried off and is cuddling with a volunteer who saved its life. Many naps are in store for these young cats, after the traumatizing events of being separated from their owners, subjected to being soaked and nearly drowned in flood waters, and then being brought to the safety of Austin Pets Alive.

You can see how grateful this little guy is.

It's hard to imagine the devastation of being abandoned, or accidentally separated from your owner, and then thinking that you weren't going to be able to escape the flood, only for some amazing humans to come rescue you at the last possible second. This kitty will never forget the humans who made sure he had a safe place to go, and a place to sleep, and have some food to eat.

This kitty is grateful to be dry once again.

As we all know, cats hate nothing more than being wet. And above being wet,

Here's one last look at where the cats were, when they were luckily found and rescued:

The poor fur babies are so soaking wet. We have no idea where they were actually found, but it's amazing that they survived, and will go on to happy and full lives with foster moms and dads. In this picture, little do they know that soon they'll be warm, and dry, and have tons of people fighting over them to be their new parents. We just want to hug and kiss all of them and make them happy.
