Sheffield Wednesday fans have a special message for Owls star George Hirst on his birthday

In December, the Star revealed that Owls owner Dejphon Chansiri was resigned to losing the teenage starlet after rejecting a long term deal. 

The offer would have made Hirst the best-paid player of his age group in Wednesday's history after opening talks with his representatives in January 2017. 

Although the contract wrangle has seemingly curtailed Hirst's season, it hasn't stopped the 19-year-old enjoying his birthday.

The striker tweeted: "Birthday boy Have a good day people"

Within no time, Hirst was inundated with birthday messages from Owls fans who all had a similar request for him.
