Sax Section!

Sax Section!

You’re a sexy sax and ready to show off your moves! As a member of the front line horn section, you not only add a groovy flavour with your awesome sax licks, but you’re catching eyes with your dance moves and improvised comedic embellishments. You really want to practice hard and impress the real musicians (seeing as none of the current Two Cent Pro sax section have ever actually studied music) but unfortunately your busy life doesn’t leave as much room for music practice as you would like. However, band isn’t just about the music for you; you’ll find some great friends in the sax section.

In case you were wondering, here’s a quick rundown of the answer allocations:

Sax Section: Your hat is the flat-cap or fedora, you’re confident or social, your hangout is outdoors or anywhere with music, you’re up to date with technology but not overly interested, you like people to notice you, your tie is smooth blue, black or a dress, your stereo always has music going in the background, you want to go to America or Canada, your room is the best room in the house and your style of music is funk or jazz.

Brass section: Your hat is the flat-cap or the sombrero holding mutes, you prefer to keep to yourself, your hangout is home or anywhere with music, you’re in the stone age or wish you had the money to be a technology person, you don’t mind a little attention, your tie is black, bow tie or bright colours, your stereo has music going in the background, you want to go to America, your room is tidy and your style of music is jazz.

Rhythm section: Your hat is the beanie, you’re laid back, your hangout is the pub or anywhere with music, you have all the latest technological devices, you don’t mind a little attention or prefer to keep to yourself, your tie is bright, bow tie or has Star Wars references, your stereo is blasting you want to go Down South, your bedroom is a mess and your style of music is rock.

Singer: Your hat is the fedora or the beanie, you’re social or confident, your hangout is the pub or home, you’re up to date with technology or with you had the money to be a technology person, you love attention or at least like people to notice you, you go for the open collar or a dress, your stereo is blasting, you want to go to New Zealand, you have everything you need in your room and your style of music is pop or rock.

Brass Section!

Brass Section!

You’re not the first thing people see, but once you start playing you can’t be missed! Two Cent Pro trumpets are loud and punchy but also possess a refined, harmonious side when required. You enjoy experimenting with the noises your horn can make, blowing the ears off the rest of the band and joining in with the sax’s dance moves – but only when you feel like it. Majority of the brass section are jazz lovers, but they do possess a rebellious rock streak. The Two Cent Pro brass section seems to prefer lurking in the background during rehearsals, but is always up for a social outing.

Rhythm Section!

Rhythm Section!

You set the groove, the mood and nothing would be the same without you. You’re essential for things to work, but if you muck up EVERYONE notices. You’re good at what you do, though, so even when you haven’t practiced, you’re pretty good at winging it. If you’re on drums or bass you don’t get many solos; but when you do, they’re wicked! On the other hand, if you’re on keys or guitar you get solos galore. The challenge isn’t the soloing; it’s thinking of ways to change it up each time. There’s never a lack of Power Rangers, Harry Potter or Arnold Schwarzenegger references coming from the rhythm section. You guys are legends when it comes to setting up and packing down. Statistically however, more things have been lost, broken or forgotten by the rhythm section than by the rest of the band combined!

Singer!

Singer!

You’re the shining star; centre stage with all eyes on you! You don’t let it go to your head though; you’re still one of the Two Cent Bros. Though it may look like you’re in charge to the audience, musical direction is actually coming from the depths of the horn section. You’re focus is on remembering lyrics, attempting to keep the audience entertained between songs and having a bit of fun. You love that you can take trips to the bar during the instrumental songs and you’re generally a people-person so you don’t mind being the first point of contact between the audience and the band. However, it can get annoying battling off drunk girls at weddings who want to sing in your place!
