Denver Zoo's New Baby Giraffe Dobby Finally Made His First Public Appearance!

Born February 28, the little giraffe has kept zoo staff worried with several health problems since his birth, but he's finally been allowed out into his exhibit with his family!

The Denver Zoo's newest addition, an adorable little giraffe named Dobby, was born on February 28, but after only a day, his vets began to worry. He hadn't inherited sufficient immune support from his mother, so they had to get him a plasma transfusion from giraffes at another zoo to help him become strong and healthy.

Dobby has also had problems with feeding and even standing, but now, at a little less than a week old, he's been allowed out into his enclosure with his family for the first time to greet his many human admirers.

According to the Denver Zoo, he's not out of danger yet, but he's looking better and better each day.
