Autism Knows No Borders Global Autism Project Partners with Centria Healthcare to Raise Autism Awareness Around the World

New York City, NY (April 13, 2018) — To kick off Autism Awareness Month, the Global Autism Project is proud to announce its new partnership with Centria Healthcare to increase awareness and education about autism in communities around the world. To achieve this, Centria Healthcare donated $20,000 in scholarships toward the Global Autism Project’s SkillCorps travel program, which sends groups of behavioral experts on two-week trips around the world to promote collaboration, communication, and cultural consideration within the field of autism education.

Participants of the SkillCorps program have the opportunity to travel to one of 15 countries, including: China, India, Dominican Republic, Indonesia, the Netherlands, Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Nicaragua, and more. During their trips, SkillCorps members provide training to local teachers about inclusion efforts and support for individuals with autism – both in the classroom and out in the community. Once members are accepted into the SkillCorps program, tuition costs $5,000; but Centria Healthcare is offering scholarships of $2,500 to five lucky Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs).

The BCBAs who participate in the SkillCorps program will bring back invaluable skills to the workplace, which will achieve our ultimate goal of helping as many children as possible live life on their own terms.”
