Avery Doninger vs. Lewis S. Mills High School

A former high school student in Connecticut named Avery Doninger called her principal and other school officials "douchebags." Her principal then banned her from running for re-election in a student office. Other students began to wear "Team Avery" T-shirts and he banned those as well.
Doninger sued her principal, claiming he was breaking the First Amendment.
The lower federal court sided with the school officials so Doninger took her case to the high court. The high court still has yet to make a decision.
