Woman in the workforce

Many women after world war two gave up their work position to the men who returned after the war because of pressure.When the men returned the stereotypical housewife image was rehearsed.If there was a job that women could have it would be a secretary and even then one of the requirements they look for is how you look.Betty Freidman wrote a book called The feminine mystique.This book rebelled against the mindset of many men and showed the truth and unsatisfaction women have had as a housewife.

Women in the 1950's were expected to stay silent when a man touches them unwillingly.A woman should follow her man's every word.This was deemed as normal and seen as a result of male superiority.Woman in the the late 1950's to the 1960's were fighting for a change in laws so they can be protected from this predator behavior.This was the beginning of feminism.Women began rebelling against the oppression they have been facing.

This comes after defying the gender role set for women that it is implied that women should stay home to take care of the family and house.As woman have already shown that they are perfectly capable of working at a job like men.Now women are challenging the idea of male superiority in the aspect of money.They are rebelling against the concept that woman are weaker than men mentally and physically.
