Solar Eclipse 2017!

Visitors from all over the U.S. pay a visit to Nashville Zoo!

While many folks decided to stay home or go camping during the solar eclipse, many more decided to take advantage of the day and spend it at the zoo!

Nashville Zoo reached approximately 7,000 visitors on this day alone!

Folks of all ages were excited to visit the animals and even more curious to see if the eclipse would have any sort of influence on the animals.

Humans and animals alike stand in awe...

As sudden darkness sets in!

As the moon momentarily blocked the sun,mammals and insects experienced a range of reactions, including confusion, fright and excitement.

But it's hard to determine if the zoo animal's excitement stemmed from the eclipse itself or the excitement of awe-struck humans that were shrieking with delight.

You could feel the energy. It was like a joyous sigh.

Giraffes, Mazi and Nasha can't contain their excitement!

The juvenile giraffes were caught running in circles as darkness swept over their sky!

Two beautiful young giraffes, by the names Mazi and Nasha, were eager to gallop around their backyard as the eclipse took over the sky.

Just opposite, rhinos at the zoo made a quick dash to their pens as the sky darkened.
